Taking metallurgical mines as an example, there are 1,180 kinds of equipment currently in use, and China's self-sufficiency is only about 26%, and most of them are equipment with low technological content and low quality requirements. The remaining 74% still need to be imported. Domestically produced equipment, especially high-tech mobile equipment, such as full-surface boring machines, mining vehicles, excavators, and scrapers, has a large gap compared with imported equipment. To this end, experts propose ways to improve the innovation capabilities of the mining machinery industry: First, the mining machinery manufacturing industry should adopt different forms of joint ventures with foreign companies and domestic professional design institutes, including the formation of a group, consortium, introduction of technology, introduction of talents, etc. At least we must strive to adopt a joint design method for an engineering project. We must first intervene and improve it to achieve a win-win situation. Secondly, it is necessary to establish and improve the application laboratory of advantageous specialties as soon as possible to conduct research on application technologies of products and manufacturing processes. The laboratory should be highly-started and based on practicality, including test theory and methods, test equipment and scale, and control and inspection techniques, and foreign advanced technology should be introduced when necessary. In addition, relevant institutions of higher learning at home and abroad are not only the bases for the training of mining machinery technicians, but also the origins of the basic theories and experimental techniques of mining machinery. They must rely on their strength and adopt different forms of cooperation and cooperation with them.
