AT & T, Ford, Nokia and Qualcomm announced that they will launch the first C-V2X trial in the United States to help accelerate the development of the car networking. The test is designed to demonstrate the tremendous potential of C-V2X technology, including support for improving vehicle safety, enabling autonomous driving and improving traffic efficiency. In addition, the pilot also aims to show carmakers and road operators the cost-effective benefits of synergies between embedded cellular technology in the car and deployment of cellular base stations and roadside infrastructures. The initial phase of the trial is expected to start later this year. The C-V2X enhances the ability of vehicles to communicate directly with other vehicles, pedestrian terminals and roadside infrastructure using the 5.9GHz band by adopting a direct mode of communication, helping to expand the use of wireless technology in road safety applications without the need for cellular networks or cellular subscribers In the role. The C-V2X technology also complements other advanced driver assistance systems sensors to support 360-degree NLOS and enhance the ability of cars to read, understand and understand road conditions at crossroads in blind spots or bad weather conditions. The trial of the C-V2X platform will be installed in Ford Motor Company, the Ford car equipped with Qualcomm 9150 C-V2X solution to enhance direct communication, while AT & T's 4G LTE network communication and the use of Nokia wireless base stations and multiple access computing The ITS technology platform will complement the C-V2X platform. The test will support C-V2X direct communications operating at 5.9GHz ITS spectrum with the goal of improving vehicle-to-vehicle safety.
