Vietnam's construction machinery imports fall
Since the beginning of this year, Vietnam’s imports of all types of construction machinery have declined, and only imports of road rollers have increased. From the end of the first quarter to the present, the average monthly imports of road rollers reached 250. In the first seven months of 2009, the country imported a total of 1498 road rollers, with a total value of US$32.35 million, equivalent to 109.5% of the total imports in 2008, 116.73% of imports, an increase of 59.19% over the same period of 2008, and imports 68.35% increase. It is estimated that the import volume of road rollers will remain high in the coming months. Japan and China are the largest suppliers of imported roller in Vietnam. Vietnam imports more Sakai brand and Liugong brand road rollers. In the first seven months of this year, Vietnam imported 380 Sakai roller machines from Japan with a total value of 9.17 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 24.52% over the same period of the previous year, and an increase of 25.14% in imports. Imports of China's Liugong road roller machines totaled 7.14 million U.S. dollars, a year-on-year increase. It increased by 70.14% and the import value increased by 84.84%.
